Hastings skatepark partially closes for essential work

An underground skatepark in Hastings is partially closing for 10 days from today (4 December). Hastings Borough Council will be fixing leaks coming from the new water feature above The Source Park on the seafront and the work will require scaffolding to be brought in. As a result, the main park will close to riders, along with the café and viewing platform to spectators. A spokesperson for the authority said: “Closing is not something that The Source want to do but being directly beneath a beach and promenade they understand that sometimes it means they need to make way for important work. “The work will fix the leaks that have been noticeable to Source park users over the past 6-8 weeks. “The main skatepark and cafe will be shut during this time but the shop will be open as usual 7 days a week so please swing by for all the latest BMX and Skate Parts, Shoes and Apparel. The Plaza will be open on a first come first served basis, on a limited schedule, so please check www.sourcebmx.com/sourcepark for session times. “Thanks for your understanding.”  More Radio is continuously dedicated to providing a quality news service on-air and online, reporting local stories that matter across Sussex.
