Haywards Heath Wins Gold In South And South East Bloom Awards

Haywards Heath has had its most successful year in the South & South East In Bloom Awards 2023.

The town has won Gold for Muster Green, Gold for Haywards Heath Town and Silver Gilt for the Haywards Heath Cemetery.

South & South East in Bloom is part of Britain in Bloom, the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving hundreds of communities each year. 

'Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit'.

Chair of Haywards Heath In Bloom Committee, Cllr Sandy Ellis, said:

“My heart is bursting with pride on hearing this wonderful news that Haywards Heath has achieved its best performance in the South and South East In Bloom awards. It's not just how the town is lovingly cared for by our wonderful Haywards Heath Town Council grounds staff, but also the hard work of the In Bloom committee and the amazing businesses, organisations and volunteers we are so lucky to have in Haywards Heath – a true community effort!

"I would like to pay a tremendous thanks to the brilliant grounds team at the Town Council who work so hard all year round to ensure the beauty of our green spaces and more in Haywards Heath. 

"My thanks also go to all the committee of the Haywards Heath In Bloom committee and their administrator Brenda, for all of their hard work and efforts for our community. 

"Thank you to the many volunteers who dedicate their time to enhancing our environment, the many businesses and organisations who support the Town Council’s initiatives and to all the litter picking heroes, the wonderful allotment communities, the residents for their beautiful front gardens and the many school gardening clubs, forestry schools and beautiful green spaces groups that celebrate the beautiful civic pride we have in abundance.

As a Haywards Heath In Bloom committee, we have strived to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and our natural environment, instigating initiatives to improve the biodiversity of our parks and green spaces to support the flora, fauna and habitat for wildlife and pollinating insects and ensuring our Town is a beautiful place for residents and visitors alike.
