HGV driver charged with drink-driving after testing over double the legal limit on the A27

An HGV driver faces drink-driving charges today after being stopped on the A27 yesterday (March, 17). Officers said Sebastiao Martins De Pinho was stopped at Beddingham just before 10pm, after he was reported by an off-duty police officer. Police said the 48-year-old took a roadside breath test, and was subsequently arrested and charged with driving with 86mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system. The legal limit is 35mcg. Martins De Pinho, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (March, 18).
