It's been confirmed an investigation will take place after crews with six fire engines have fought flames at a house in Eastbourne overnight.
Firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called in the early hours of this morning (Monday May 5) to reports of a fire at a house in Jerome Close in Eastbourne.
The alarm was raised at 1.14am.
The fire had spread from the ground floor to the roof.
By 2.15am, there were six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform at the scene.
Six breathing apparatus were used by crews tackling the fire.
Police and ambulance also attended, though fire officers said this morning that everyone at the semi-detached property had been accounted for.
Investigators are due to begin researching the cause of the flames.
