The number of newly-diagnosed coronavirus cases in Sussex reached a new high of almost 1,500 yesterday (December 29).
In a further milestone along the troubled road to the pandemic's conclusion, the new peak in cases totalled 1,368.
Of those, East Sussex contributed the greatest number with an increase of 613, to 13,474 since counting began.
In West Sussex, 550 new cases were recorded to bring a total of 15,696, while the number in Brighton and Hove was 205, giving the city 6,320 recorded cases.
New figures are expected at around 4pm today.
