Hunt For Brighton Knife Attack Suspect

Police in Brighton were this afternoon (Friday, 21 May) searching for a suspect reportedly involved in a knife attack in the city this morning.

A victim was slashed during an assault in Chatham Place, at 8.25am today.

Police said the incident is being treated as isolated and there is not thought to be any threat to the wider community at this time. 

Officers believe the suspect is known to the victim.

Eye-witnesses report a police helicopter has been involved in a search.

The road where the attack was reported is one of seven leading to the Seven Dials roundabout, west of the city's main railway station.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or who has relevant dash-cam, doorbell or mobile phone footage is urged by police to report online or call 101, quoting 248 of 21/05.
