Brighton & Hove’s rural estate is made up of around 12,800 acres of land in the South Downs National Park.

The city council said that, together with residents, it's developing its plans for the land, which it's terming a "valuable asset".

The local authority described the present day as "a unique opportunity to explore how to use this land to help tackle the climate and biodiversity emergencies and reduce carbon emissions".

There's now an open invitation to the public, to contribute experiences, together with details of project projects and work that individuals are involved with on the Downs.

In the Downland Estate Plan Forum, visitors are invited to go to the ‘Your contributions’ and ‘discussion’ tabs at the bottom of the page, to share ideas, opinions and stories with others.

The city council said visitors' opinions, knowledge and ideas are valuable to help the authority produce an "inclusive, well informed" City Downland Estate Plan.

Additionally, the website contains details of Zoom discussions, open to the public, on the topic of using Brighton and Hove's Downland.

There's also a survey on the land's future.
