Information Appeal By Family Of Missing Graduate Who May Have Gone To Hastings

The family of long-term missing man Reedam Pokharel is working with the charity Missing People to re-launch search efforts ahead of the first anniversary of his disappearance.

Reedam, a graduate from the University of Nottingham, was 24 when he was last seen by his family in Hayes on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Leading up to his disappearance, Reedam’s family say that he seemed ‘a bit stressed and pre-occupied’.

On May 29, Reedam left his family home carrying a small rucksack, telling his family that he was going to Nottingham for “work-related things”. He kept in touch with his family by text until June 15, 2022, repeatedly saying over this period that he would come home in one or two-days’ time.

The family lost contact with Reedam on June 16 when his mobile phone was turned off. Attempts to reach him via social media and email also failed.

Reedam’s family reported him missing to police on June 21. Following police investigations, Reedam’s ATM card activity led police to believe that he had travelled to Dover on June 1, ordered food in Hastings on June 9, travelled back to Dover on June 12, and travelled back to Hastings on June 16.

As of the 16th, all card activity stopped.

Reedam is described as Asian, with an olive complexion, about 5’ 10”, 70kg (at the time of his disappearance), with an average slim build. He also had a moustache and beard. He wears a gold chain on his neck and a gold bracelet on his right hand. Reedam has a tattoo on his right hand just above his wrist – a name in ‘foreign’ script.

As a year approaches with no major developments on Reedam’s search, his family remains "heartbroken" yet determined as ever to reunite with their beloved son.

In an appeal to Reedam, father, Keshav Pokharel said:

"Reedam, you suddenly disappeared. We don't even know that you are alive or not. Please let us know your status if you are receiving this message. We are your parents, we always support you and understand any situation you are in."

To help the search, the public can visit Reedam’s appeal on the Missing People website here, from where they can report a sighting, download his Missing appeal as a poster, and share it as widely as possible via Facebook and Twitter.

Missing People’s Publicity Officer, Ndella Senghore, said:
