Investigation Following Fight Between Large Group Of Teenagers In Newhaven

Police are investigating following a report of a fight between a large group of girls and boys, in Dacre Road, Newhaven on Monday October 25th.

Police arrived to the area at around 3.20pm, where the teenagers, all believed to be around 13-16 years old and wearing tracksuits, had been causing a disturbance.

It's believed there were around 20 of them involved.

Around 25 minutes later, officers were called to a second incident, involving the same children, at Newhaven railway station.

PC Marcus Knight from the Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team said:

''This must have been a shocking incident to witness, particularly in the middle of the afternoon in a busy high street area.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who has information about this incident, and in particular anyone who has video footage of it taking place. This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and we would like to reassure the local community that it will not be tolerated.''

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information which could help our investigation, is asked to report online or by calling 101 quoting serial 830 of 25/10.
