A house in Littlehampton was struck by lightening last night (Sept 5), requiring West Sussex Fire & Rescue to attend an address in The Estuary.
It happened at 10.37pm and fire crews with four engines from Littlehampton, East Preston and Worthing attended the scene, using an aerial ladder platform to reach the roof.
A spokesperson from WSFRS said:
"Upon arrival, crews found smoke in the loft compartment and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels, jets and thermal imaging cameras to investigate the source of the smoke and dampen down the area.
"Crews left the scene at 1.15am and no casualties were involved."
