Man and boy aged 14 arrested after pair attacked in Hastings

Two people have been arrested in connection with an assault and robbery in Hastings on Saturday (May, 2). Police said they were called to reports of a man and a woman being attacked at the junction of Deepdene Gardens and Frederick Road, at around 2pm. Two males allegedly assaulted the pair and stole the woman's handbag before fleeing in the direction of Deepdene Gardens, according to officers. Both victims suffered cuts and bruises. A 20-year-old man and 14-year-old boy, both from Hastings, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. Officers said the man was was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and acquiring criminal property, and the boy was further suspected of occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. Both were released on bail pending further enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting serial 903 of 02/05.
