A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a collision between a car and a teenage girl in Crawley. The 15-year-old girl was at a pedestrian crossing near the Coaching Halt public house in Balcombe Road at 4.15pm on Tuesday (September, 17), when a gold-coloured Volkswagen estate car collided with her. Police said after initially stopping, the car involved drove away before emergency services arrived. Officers said the girl was treated for minor injuries in hospital. A 48-year-old man from Handcross was later arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failing to stop after a road accident, and has since been released under investigation.
