Armed officers have arrested a man in connection with with a knifepoint robbery at a Betfred in Brighton last night (Monday, 25). Police said they responded to a report that a man had gone into the betting shop in Park Road around 8.15pm, climbed on the counter and demanded a member of staff hand over cash from the safe. Officers said he then grabbed some money from a coin stacker before the staff member raised the alarm. According to the force, a man was then restrained by officers who recovered a knife. A 28-year-old man detained on suspicion of robbery remains in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1262 of 25/11.
