Man Arrested For Making Threats To Kill In Crawley

A man has been arrested after police responded to reports of a person carrying knives in Crawley.

Officers were called to York Road shortly after 3pm on Wednesday (June 10) to reports of a man in the street armed with two knives.

The man was traced to Ashdown Road, where he was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and threats to kill.

Inspector Jim Collen said:

"Our officers were able to bring the incident to a safe and swift conclusion.

"We believe everyone involved in the matter was known to each other, and there was little risk to the wider public.”

The man has been taken into custody where he remains at this time.
