Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a van on the A272 near Coolham on Saturday (January, 25). The 31-year-old man died at the scene after he was in a collision with a Ford Transit, just east of Coolham crossroads, at 5.20pm. A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and after being interviewed was released under investigation. Police said the driver of the van and a teenage boy, who was a passenger, were both unhurt. Sergeant Neil Cox, of the Surrey and Sussex Road Policing Unit, said: "This is a busy stretch of road and although it was dark at the time, other road users may still have information that could help our investigation." Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Northfield.   More Radio is continuously dedicated to providing a quality news service on-air and online, reporting local stories that matter across Sussex.
