A man is due before magistrates today (Friday, 17), charged in connection with a robbery at a betting shop in Crawley where staff were threatened with a hatchet. Police were called to a report a man had entered the Coral Betting shop in Gales Drive yesterday evening (Thursday, 16). Officers said the man threatened staff with a hatchet blade while demanding cash from the safe. According to the force, a suspect was apprehended and some £200 in cash secured. Joseph Ronald Cocks, 29, of Shoreham Road in Crawley, was charged with robbery.
