A man has been charged with burglary and theft following a break-in at a property in Eastbourne. Officers said they were in the town centre when they saw a break-in at a property. Moments later, a torchlight was seen to come on inside one of the properties for approximately one minute, before a man was seen leaving the address. When the occupant of the property returned home later that evening, it was found a quantity of cash had been stolen. Darrell Owen, 52, of Howard Square, Eastbourne, was arrested and charged with burglary and theft, following the incident on March 10. He appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Saturday (April, 18), where he was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on May 15.
