A 42-year-old man has been charged with drink driving after being found to be nearly three times over the limit.
Timothy Staines of Felbridge, Surrey, was arrested after being detained by members of the public, following a minor collision in East Grinstead on Monday (January 25).
Officers were called to London Road at about 6.56pm, where they found him to have 90mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system - the legal limit is 35mcg.
Mr Staines has been released on unconditional bail and will appear before Crawley Magistrates in February.
