Man dies after being involved in two collisions in Horsham

The passenger of a vehicle involved in two road collisions in Horsham yesterday (Thursday, 12) has died. The 54-year-old man, from Pulborough, was in a blue Nissan Almera which collided with a van in Redkiln Way at 11.40am, before making off from the scene. Police said around five minutes later the same vehicle then collided with a black Audi in nearby Forest Road. The male passenger in the Nissan died at the scene. Officers said the driver - a 57-year-old man from Pulborough - was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he is being treated for serious injuries. The van driver - a 53-year-old man from Southwater - was taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill with serious injuries, while the occupants of the Audi reported minor injuries. Anyone who witnessed either of the incidents, or either of the vehicles being driven in the area, is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Hayseed.
