Man dies after car crashes into tree on A27

A man in his 20s has died after a car he was a passenger in crashed into a tree on the A27 between Tangmere and Fontwell. Emergency services were called to the incident involving a Seat Leon around 11.30pm on Saturday night (September, 28). Police said the driver and a passenger, both men in their 20s, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious injuries. A second passenger suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Officers said his next of kin have been informed at this time. Police believe another hatchback style vehicle - dark in colour at the front and light at the back - may have witnessed the collision and now want to speak to the driver. Anyone with information or who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Belford.
