Man left seriously injured following 'violent' assault in Bexhill

A 60-year-old man has been left with a serious leg injury following a 'violent' assault in Bexhill on New Year's Day (January, 1). Police said the victim was walking home along West Parade around 9pm when he was approached by a group of teenagers who asked him how much money he had on him. Officers said the man did not engage in a conversation and continued walking, but he was then assaulted, and was left with a serious leg injury. According to police, the victim is now in need of further treatment after being taken to hospital. The teenagers have been described as being aged between 13 and 16, and were riding on scooters, bikes and skateboards at the time of the incident.
