Man wanted in connection with stolen wallet from elderly man at Worthing Sainsbury's

Police want to talk to a man in connection with the theft of a wallet from an elderly man in Worthing. The 84-year-old victim was shopping with his wife at Sainsbury's in Lyons Farm on Wednesday, October 16 when the theft took place. Officers said the victim used a cashpoint before entering the store just before 3pm, and on subsequently going to the store checkout at 3.30pm, he realised that his wallet had been stolen. Soon afterwards, cash transactions for several hundred pounds, using both the victim and his wife's debit cards, were made at his bank in Worthing, according to Police. Officers said both cards have since been cancelled, and they now want to speak to the man in the photo in connection with the incident. He is described as white, in his 30s and wearing glasses, and was seen near the victim at the cashpoint. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 540 of 17/10.
