A man who threatened staff with a firearm at an Esso garage in Bohemia Road in Hastings has been arrested and charged.
It happened at around 5.15am last Sunday (Oct 24). The suspect reportedly left the garage with alcohol and cigarettes. No one was injured.
That evening police arrested a man and, a subsequent search of his address in the town, revealed a firearm, which was seized.
George Humphreys, 36, a factory worker, of Cornwallis Gardens in Hastings, was later charged with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (October 26) where he was remanded in custody to appear before the crown court on November 23.
