Mayfield's Slow Film Festival Moooves Online

The Stop by Bartosz Reetz (Poland), shown at the festival in 2019.

The annual East Sussex festival, which started in 2016, will be shown online this year, rather than on a farm as originally planned.

The organisers are currently building a virtual Mayfield village online after they were forced to cancel the physical event due to Coronavirus.

Every year the festival presents a programme of durational and landscape moving image art. The festival also programmes events in galleries and cinemas throughout the UK.

They have promised that "all things durational, rural and backwards will be accessible, all over the world, for free, without disturbance to the cows of Sussex or their devoted milkers".

Originally scheduled to be screened on a farm, these four films will now be available online from 11am on October 31st until 9pm on November 1st:

Erpe-Mere by Noemi Osselaer
Ghost Nursery by Brandon Wilson
Green Thoughts by William Hong-xiao Wei
Night Horse by Jeroen van der Stock
