Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has officially launched her new lifestyle brand by sending jars of strawberry jam to influencers across the US.

Among those receiving jars of American Riviera Orchard strawberry jam were fashion designer Tracy Robbins and Argentine socialite Delfina Blaquier.

Plugging the jam on her Instagram story, Ms Robbins posted two images of the jam jar, which the duchess sent nestled in a basket of lemons.

To one, she added the words "Breakfast, lunch and dinner just got a little sweeter.

On the other, she wrote: "Thank you for the delicious basket! I absolutely love this jam so not sure I'm sharing with anyone. Thank you M!"

The label featured the new company's name, with 'Montecito' [the town in Santa Barbara County, California] where Prince Harry and Meghan live, and the words '17 of 50' underneath.

Ms Blaquier, who is married to Prince Harry's polo-playing friend Nacho Figueras, posted similar pictures on her Instagram story, saying: "Strawberry jam makes me happy. And I love your jam, @AmericanRivieraOrchard."

Her label was marked 10 of 50.

The post also showed some of the jam spread on a piece of bread.

Products are not yet available to buy, with the website offering a waiting list instead.

The duchess sent the limited-edition jars to promote the venture, which was announced online last month via an Instagram teaser video, showing the duchess cooking and arranging white hydrangeas and roses, posted on the new American Riviera Orchard Instagram account.

The brief vintage-style footage was set to Nancy Wilson's I Wish You Love and closed with the brand's logo, American Riviera Orchard, written in fine gold script above the word Montecito.

Little information has been released about Meghan's new project but a trademark application filed in February shows the company wishes to offer downloadable and printed recipe books, table wear, textiles, and jams and marmalades, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.

The duke and duchess were pictured in public on Friday at a charity polo event in Florida where Mr Figueras was one of the players.

On Monday, Prince Harry lost an initial bid to appeal against a High Court ruling over his personal security in the UK.

It was confirmed the couple are working on respective new projects with Netflix as part of their £80m deal with the streaming platform.
