Murder investigation launched after reported family of four found dead in West Sussex home

Police have launched a murder investigation after the bodies of who officers believe to be a family of four were discovered in a West Sussex village yesterday evening (Sunday, 29). Officers were called to a report of concerns for the welfare of occupants at a home in Duffield Lane, Woodmancote around 6.45pm. On arrival, the bodies of two adults and two children, along with a dog, were discovered inside the house. Police believe all the victims were from the same family. Chief Superintendent Jerry Westerman said: "This is believed to be an isolated incident contained to one property and in these early stages of the investigation we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. "Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as our enquiries continue. "Specialist officers have been deployed to support the investigation and we’re urging anyone with any information to get in touch. "Our thoughts are with the family at this incredibly difficult and challenging time." Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Cotton.   More Radio is continuously dedicated to providing a quality news service on-air and online, reporting local stories that matter across Sussex. If you enjoyed reading this story, then check out our home page at moreradio.online where you can find the latest from the county, along with features and competitions from our presenters, as well as listening to the station live.
