A man in his 40s, who was seen arguing with a young girl from his car in Lancing last Thursday (October, 31) night, has turned out to be her father following a police investigation. Officers said three teenage girls were reportedly seen in Upper Boundstone Lane on Halloween at about 10.10pm. Police said an argument allegedly broke out between one of them and a man in his 40s in a silver/grey hatchback car, at which point the girl got in the vehicle and they drove away. An appeal was put out by officers to find out what happened. Police have now traced the car and it's been confirmed that the two were father and daughter. DC Francesca Safiruddin said: "This was a false alarm but it was raised with good intent, and it was important for us to make sure the girl was safe."
