Worthing Pride, the town's relatively new annual festival of diversity, has this morning announced a rescheduling to later this year.

With its original date, July 10, now falling within the time of newly extended Coronavirus safety restrictions, organisers today announced a move to Saturday 18 September this year.

They said the festival would still have the same acts, traders and stalls, and promised to "bring the summer to an amazing close with an even better party for Worthing."

Organisers added that the necessary risk assessments for the original date including a provision for moving the festival later in the calendar, should restrictions not be eased in time.

They added a request to visitors:

"This is simply a chance for every single one of our guests to ‘get jabbed’ and ensure that we are all set to close the summer in style at Worthing Pride."

By Monday, the organisers had sold over 60% of all available tickets, and said limited numbers remain for the new date.

"This isn’t the news we wanted to break — however customer safety must remain our number one priority and we cannot wait to see you all on Saturday 18 September 2021 in the grounds of the Beach House. Worthing."
