Today, Monday 17 May, is the first working weekday when extra trains are running on many busy Sussex routes.

As lockdown eases, Southern says the daytime half-hourly shuttle between Brighton and Hove is returning.

Among other services, there are also new half-hourly trains between Hastings and Ore, and Brighton.

About their new Summer Timetable, Southern says:

"You’ll see a more frequent service between Uckfield and London Bridge, as well as some more Thameslink services between East Grinstead and London St Pancras.

"On the South coast you’ll see an increase of services between Brighton and Hastings & Ore during certain times of the day, and we’re also bringing the Brighton – Hove half-hourly shuttle service back throughout the day."

There are also four extra Thameslink trains going north from East Grinstead.

Thameslink is owned by the same company as Southern, GTR.
