New Online Portal For Eastbourne Borough Council Customers

Eastbourne Borough Council has launched a new portal for its customers that provides instant access to their council tax, business rates, council tax reduction and housing benefit records online.

By registering for the free service, residents, businesses and landlords can view their information online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere, whether in their own home or out and about.

Councillor Stephen Holt, Cabinet Member for Finance, said:

"Over the last few months, the way the council engages with customers has changed dramatically, with many more people now going online, using our webchat service and sending emails.

"This new portal builds on this shift away from older and slower methods of accessing information and provides a quick and easy way to see all the information you need.

"It really is a no brainer for anyone who wants a convenient way of dealing with their council accounts."

The system also represents good news for the environment with most of the correspondence that would normally be printed and posted, sent by email instead.

Councillor Holt added:

"The council is working towards carbon neutrality by 2030 and the more we can do online, the greater the progress we will make in achieving that target.

"Additionally, we've all experienced the frustration of a lost or mislaid letter, but this new system will ensure that never happens again."
