Nightclub reopens to sell beers on Brighton beach

  There have been mixed reactions after a Brighton nightclub reopened to sell beers on the beach over the weekend. The Arch, located on the seafront, closed its doors following government guidance on March 20. However, there are measures that allow cafes, restaurants and bars to provide takeaway services. An online post on Friday (May, 15) said 'the offy is open', advertising two beers for £5. Nearly 500 people commented, some asked how social distancing was being practised in the images, and others criticised the move for encouraging more people to the beach. However, the majority of people appeared to be pleased, asking friends to join them for a socially distanced beer on the beach. On Saturday, the club said: "You asked for draught beer to takeaway and we delivered (collection only)! "If visiting the beach for your government advised, permitted, and unrestricted exercise, grab yourself a cold one to takeaway with you.
