No Water Supply For Bexhill And Battle Due To Power Outage

South East Water has assured its customers they're doing everything they can to restore supplies after Storm Eunice knocked out power lines needed to pump water to homes and businesses.

Bexhill and Battle were affected by the power outage that has caused water pumps to stop working in their area.

UK Power Networks are currently trying to restore power to get the pumps moving - they say the situation could be rectified by midday today.

Meanwhile, thousands of homes in the south east are still without power while engineers work to restore services.

South East Water have issued this update:

  • STORM EUNICE UPDATE 7am 21 February: Repairs are continuing by UK Power Networks to restore electricity to areas hit by Friday’s Storm Eunice and the high winds of last night. Electricity is a crucial element during our drinking water production at our Water Treatment Works, underground storage tanks and to pump it along miles of pipes to your homes and businesses. As a result you may still be experiencing low water pressure, no water or an intermittent water supply due to UK Power Networks having to turn the power on and off when carrying out the repairs. If you still have electricity but no water, that’s because the power to pump the water to you is coming from another area. Please be reassured we are doing everything we can and our water technicians have been working throughout the night to get your water supply returned as quickly as possible when the power issues are resolved. Due to this being out of our control we can’t give a time when all supplies will be back to normal.

Maps show red areas where water is currently unavailable.
