A 65-year-old man has died and two other people are in hospital after a collision in Hastings on Friday (March, 6). Police said the deceased was driving a beige Citroen Xsara Picasso, containing a family from Gloucestershire, when it collided head-on with a blue Audi A4 in Fairlight Road, at around 7pm. Shortly before the incident, the Audi was involved in a minor collision in the same road, with an orange Volkswagen Polo. The Citroen driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the other front seat passenger, a 23-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Officers said a 65-year-old woman, who was sitting in the rear of the vehicle, remains at King’s College Hospital in London with life-threatening injuries. The sole occupant of the Audi, a 38-year-old local man, remains in hospital with serious injuries, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting Operation Fairlight.
