More than 200 bikers joined a convoy on Saturday (February 24) to help raise money for a six-year-old girl to get heart surgery in the USA.

Minnie's family needs to raise £140,000 for a 'cone procedure,' which would be carried out in America.

The campaign, titled Minnie's Broken Heart, has so far raised over £75k through a GoFundMe appeal.

Bikers turned out with purple accessories, including teddy bears, tutus and purple hair to help fund the life-saving trip.

Minnie was born with a rare form of congenital heart disease, Ebstein's anomaly, which is so severe that doctors here have told the family that she cannot be operated on, rendering her terminally ill. It also means she's extremely restricted in life, with her oxygen levels sitting 'dangerously low'.

On the GoFundMe page, Minnie's parents said:

"After refusing to accept this as her fate, we fought hard to gather the data in seek of a last chance, and final opinion from the foremost specialist in her rare condition, Dr Da Silva!

"Initially he agreed with the top UK cardiologists, who say that Minnie is irreparable, but hope emerges. The very doctor responsible for inventing the intricate 'Cone Procedure' operation that Minnie urgently needs—Dr. Da Silva—has agreed to take on Minnie's case!!!

"This is huge and news the whole family has been waiting for! It’s a final beacon of hope for our precious girl to give her the best chance of life!"

The family say they need to raise £140,000 to cover the cost of flying to America on a medical flight, surgery and 11 days as an inpatient.
