Dog-owners are being warned to keep their pets away from palm oil after the harmful substance reportedly washed up on Sussex beaches.
Brighton & Hove City Council says the potential mineral or oil deposits were reported to them last week.
Pets may become ill if they eat the substance - that looks similar to candle wax.
It has reportedly washed up on beaches, including in Brighton.
