The A259 is currently closed at the junction with Eastern Avenue in Shoreham-by-Sea, after officers stopped a vehicle believed to have been stolen from a property in Goring overnight.
An eyewitness told More Radio that police arrested two men in relation to the stolen vehicle.
Recovery services are due to remove it from the road.
Police thanked the public for their patience as they dealt with the incident.
