Ten Sussex Police officers have each been ordered to pay £200 penalties for breaching lockdown rules.
The county's police service said the serving officers had been found breaking the health protection coronavirus regulations in respect of indoor gatherings in Hove in May, this year.
It's been confirmed that police found several off-duty officers present at such a gathering when they responded to a call at 8.46pm on May 15th.
At the time of the incident, coronavirus regulations permitted only mixing with a person's own household or linked households.
Sussex Police has told More Radio that an internal investigation, by the force's Professional Standards Department, is continuing.
Chief Superintendent Nick May said:
"We take Covid-related breaches very seriously and we do not tolerate this kind of behaviour which falls below the standards we expect of our officers and staff."
