A person has died following a reported incident on rail tracks in Balcombe this morning (Friday, 24). British Transport Police said they were called to an area of railway just after 8.10am following a report of a casualty on the tracks. A person was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers are now trying to establish how they came to be on the tracks. Southern Rail said all lines are currently blocked between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges, with no trains running. The rail company said trains will be cancelled or revised to start or finish their journeys away from the affected area. Rail replacement services are currently running between the two stations.
đ Rail replacement buses are now operating in the Three Bridges and Haywards Heath areas. These buses will be managed by station staff and will not run to a timetable, so please speak to staff upon arrival for full details. âšď¸đhttps://t.co/nUnTK53BEF â Southern (@SouthernRailUK) January 24, 2020 More Radio is continuously dedicated to providing a quality news service on-air and online, reporting local stories that matter across Sussex.
