Person hospitalised after falling on sea groyne in Brighton

A person has been taken to hospital after falling on a sea groyne - close to the bandstand - on Brighton beach. Coastguards used a rescue stretcher to evacuate the casualty late on Saturday night. It prompted an appeal to beachgoers, urging us not to take unnecessary risks or use inflatable toys on the sea. People are reminded not to make fires on the beach at nighttime.
