Person taken to hospital following a blaze at a property in Sompting

'At least one person' has been taken to hospital after crews tackled a blaze in Sompting last night (Tuesday, 10). West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said three crews from Worthing, and a Command Support Vehicle from Bognor, were called to a kitchen fire at a property in Herbert Road at around 7.20pm. Officials said one hose reel jet and two sets of breathing apparatus were used to deal with the accidental blaze.

— West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (@WestSussexFire) March 10, 2020 Firefighters said three people received medical attention from the ambulance service. A spokesperson from SECAmb said: "One ambulance and one car responded to the blaze in Herbert Road at 7.20pm. "At least one, possibly two, people were taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment."
