PHOTOS: 78-Bike Send-Off For Teenager Who Died In Motorcycle Collision In Worthing

The funeral for 17-year-old India Buchanan, who died in a motorcycle collision in Worthing, has been held in Henfield.

India died in hospital following a collision on the A27 in Crockhurst Hill, Salvington on November 18.

The 25-year-old who was riding the bike also suffered serious injuries.

Her funeral, which was held yesterday, started in Rustington when a convoy of 78 motorcycles, all belonging to a club of which India was a part, arrived at India's family home to escort them to St Peter's Church in Henfield.

Sorry, it doesn't look like there's any photos here just yet.

The convoy then made its way to Littlehampton Cemetery.

The organiser had previously posted on Facebook with instructions to the club:

Amanda Buchanan-Hills, India's mum, set up a GoFundMe page after her death in order to raise money for a memorial bench for her daughter.

To date she has raised £1,795 of her £2,000 goal.

A second fundraising page was set up by India's aunt who has been raising funds to help the family with funeral costs. She wrote:

"This is something i never thought id ever have to do,prepare to say a final Goodnight to my beautiful Niece India. She was tragically killed whilst riding pillion on a motorbike 2 weeks ago just a week after her 17th Birthday.

"As a family this has destroyed and ripped us all apart, she was a bubba. . Our bubba . I want to try and help raise as much as possible to lessen the burden for my poor sister and help give her beautiful daughter the send off she so deserves.

"She didn't even get to live her life into adulthood, its beyond cruel...a branch of our Family tree snapped off with no warning or explanation.

"India Nicola Buchanan, we love and miss you beyond words. Ride through those clouds gorgeous girl."

In a tribute to her, immediately following the collision, her family said:

“India was a kind and caring 17-year-old with an infectious laugh, who always wanted to make other people happy.

“She was a motorcycle enthusiast and animal lover who adored her beloved cat Elsa. She will be a forever missed daughter, sister, niece, and auntie to Dexter.”
