Heavy rainfall and flooding have resulted in technical problems at one of South East Water's treatment works, which supplies the area.
A statement on their website, reads:
"We are really sorry to customers in Alfriston, Berwick, Wilmington, Laughton, and surrounding areas who are experiencing no water or low pressure.
"Our teams have been working around the clock to restore supplies to as many people as possible and continue working today.
"We are aware of approximately 700 properties that remain affected.
"Due to the flooding and rainfall's impact on our water treatment works, we don't anticipate normal supplies to be restored until tomorrow (Thursday 29 February).
"All customers in the area listed on our Priority Services Register who cannot collect water from a bottled water station have had water delivered directly to their door or are being contacted to arrange delivery.
"Anyone who needs urgent assistance can call us on 0333 000 1122."
An evening update posted at 4.40pm today (February 28) added:
"Our teams continue to progress in resolving the issues at our treatment works. They will continue working through the evening and overnight to restore supplies.
"We are using tankers to inject water into the Alfriston area so some customers may receive intermittent supplies this evening."
The bottled water stations below will remain open until 9pm tonight.
