The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Sussex 'with the risk of rain never too far away' over the next few days.
Although they say the rain will be 'less impactful' than recent downpours, some are expected to be heavy with the risk of hail and thunder.
Thursday is expected to start dry, but a band of rain is forecast to move across the south with a National Severe Weather Warning issued from noon on Thursday until early Friday morning.
Flooding and travel disruption is expected with anywhere between 20 and 50mm of rain possible.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said:
“The track of the heaviest rain remains uncertain but there is chance of 20 to 30 mm of rain falling in a 6 to 9 hour period for a portion of the warning area, with a few places seeing as much as 40-50 mm.
“Much of this rain is falling on already wet ground and therefore, impacts are more likely. Meanwhile, a stalled weather front will continue to bring rain and showers across the northeast.”
We're likely to see and end to the mild weather next week with a cold spell expected from Saturday until Tuesday with colder than average temperatures and overnight frost.
