Police And RNLI Respond To 'Man In Distress' At Worthing Pier

Shoreham RNLI and Sussex Police responded to reports of a man in distress at Worthing Pier yesterday (Tuesday 2).

Police received reports of a man missing from his home in Worthing at around 3.17pm.

He was located a short while later at Worthing Pier.

HM Coastguard and Shoreham RNLI were stood down after officers engaged with the man and brought him to safety. 

Our inshore lifeboat launched to a report of a man in distress on Worthing Pier who it was feared may enter the water this afternoon. The lifeboat crew were stood down on route after Sussex Police took him to safety. RNLl always on call.
