Campaigners, wearing facemasks and mostly socially distanced, took part in a protest outside Brighton's main police station on Sunday afternoon (14 March).
A group numbering about sixty, many carrying placards, spent some time in a sitting, silent protest, and at other times chanted slogans.
Their focus was equally on the death of Sarah Everard, and on the police response to a vigil at Valley Gardens on Saturday evening, where a man was arrested and eight others issued fixed penalty notices for breaches of the government's Covid-19 regulations.
A Metropolitan Police officer, Wayne Couzens, 48, is accused of the 33-year-old's kidnap and murder, and will appear in court again on Tuesday.
After the protest, members of the group formed a march which made its way to Valley Gardens.
No arrests or fixed penalties were reported.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
"Officers made efforts to engage with the group, encouraging them to follow the government's coronavirus regulations".
Right now, people are gathering outside Brighton police station protesting the behaviour of the police last night at the vigil and their ongoing abuse of power. It is calm, peaceful and social-distanced. We'll see how long it is before police react. pic.twitter.com/H0eHxmTOl7

The police spokesperson continued:
"The protest moved into a march.
"Officers attempted to engage throughout while ensuring the safety of all those present.
"The group returned to a static protest in Valley Gardens, where officers continued their efforts to engage with them."
