Police are continuing to try to identify a fingertip which was posted through a letter box in Bognor last month. The body part was discovered after being posted through a letter box on Tuesday, September 10, and officers have since confirmed it belongs to a man. However, police have been unable to get a positive DNA result on the finger after obtaining an initial profile and are continuing to investigate as to who it belongs to. Chief Inspector Jon Carter said: "This is an unusual and isolated incident. "While we accept it may be alarming, I would like to reassure people that there have been no reports of similar incidents in the area, and at this time, there is no evidence to suggest that this is part of criminal activity, or that any person has been targeted."
