Investigations into a reported racially-motivated attack in Bexhill have stepped up.

Police are acting after a man vandalised a garage shop in the town while reportedly making racist remarks to the attendant.

An offender broke the shop's Covid-safe protective screen by punching it, causing it to hit the shop worker.

Officers said the incident took place in the BP Service Station in the town's Holliers Hill around 2pm on Thursday March 25.

Investigators added they particularly would like to speak to a young man who was in the shop at the time.

Information is welcomed online, or by calling 101 quoting serial 207 of 27/03.
