Police investigating rape of woman in Hove graveyard on Halloween

A woman remains in a 'distraught' state after she was raped in a graveyard in Hove on Halloween. Police are investigating after the 55-year-old victim was attacked by a man who sat beside her on a bench at St Andrew's in Church Road on Thursday evening (October, 31). The incident is believed to have happened as dusk was falling, between 5.30pm and 6pm. Officers said they have not yet been able to carry out a detailed interview with the victim due to her 'distraught' state and vulnerable condition, but she is being supported at this time. The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s, 5'6" tall, of an average build, with short grey hair and wearing jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Epping. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
