Police investigation launched after dog attacked in Haywards Heath

A police investigation has been launched after reports a dog was attacked in a garden in Haywards Heath.

Officers were alerted to the incident on May 11 and have since released a witness appeal.

Mid Sussex Prevention Inspector Darren Taylor said:

“Sometime, possibly in the last two weeks, a dog has seemingly been attacked and killed in its own back garden in the Bentswood Road area of Haywards Heath and video footage may have been taken.

“This footage I gather, has been shared on social media. I ask anyone who may have seen this footage, or even has this footage, to come forward.”

The property was visited by the RSPCA after concerns were raised.

Anyone who has the video footage or has any information that may help the police investigation is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1136 of 26/05.

You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it online.
