Police are re-appealing for witnesses following a fight during the early hours of Saturday, February 12 in the Susans Road and Langley Road area of Eastbourne.
During the altercation, which happened at around 2.30am, two men were attacked, one of them sustained a serious injury.
The victims had been in Cameo nightclub before deciding to leave and walk to the taxi rank.
Two men attacked them on the way - one attacked one victim with a glass bottle and the other assaulted the second victim.
One of the suspects was wearing a grey top with blue jeans.
After the assault one of the men was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital where the laceration to his face was treated.
Detective Constable Katherine Tollet-Cooper said:
